The first thing I want to mention is that if you've failed at getting an adjuster job or keeping an adjuster job in the past, it's not your fault. I have worked in the Insurance Adjusting industry for the last 10 years as a staff adjuster and an independent adjuster. Working in management I have been the decision maker for who gets hired and fired. I have had the opportunity to train many adjusters on my teams and through my online training. How I Started My Career!
Before I got into adjusting I had a six-figure career in real estate.
I was recently married, retired my wife from work and was expecting our first child. When the real estate market took a hit I needed to find another career quickly where I could make the same kind of money. I felt a little insecure about starting a new industry at 30, and was worried that I may not be able to provide for my new family.
The immediate challenge I found was that none of the Independent Adjusting companies wanted to hire people without experience. So there was no way to gain experience when companies were requiring two years of experience.
I began to wonder if I would ever get a job and if I had made a bad mistake.
Finally, a big storm became my first adjusting opportunity. I headed out to the field with zero experience and struggled through my first deployment with a pregnant wife at home. I quickly realized several things about the industry; Getting licensed does not prepare you well for the actual work of adjusting. Trial and error and lack of skill is overwhelming and is a big reason many people get cut early from deployments and don't return to adjusting.
I barely survived that first assignment, but in the years since, I've worked larger and more complex claims, reviewed claims, and managed other adjusters, I've been able to help a lot of new adjusters that are struggling like I did in the beginning.

Remember Paul's story?

When I began working in the adjuster industry I realized one important fact. Most of the jobs in adjusting are not advertised. I was working as an inside adjuster in Texas and my manager came to me and asked," do you know anyone that wants to work here"? " Does your wife want a job here"? I said I may know a few people, however, my wife does not want to be an adjuster. My manager said they were hiring and wanted to get people in the door quickly without all the "red tape".
It dawned on me that the time and money it takes to find new new adjusters isn't worth it to hiring managers and independent adjusting firms. It's why new adjusters never hear about so many jobs available. The only time jobs are usually advertised is when hundreds of adjusters are needed but those jobs still go to the favorites of the firms instead of new adjusters.
So I decided to build a referral network. Why waste time and stress waiting for jobs that will never call back. Once I built the referral network it changed the way that I found work. Within minutes of utilizing my referral network I could pick based upon pay, location, and type of work for my next job. I changed from taking whatever job I could get to picking where and when I wanted to work.
I helped other people create referral networks and they experienced the same results. The really cool thing about the referral network is that I no longer had to compete with other adjusters for the job. An even better benefit of the network was I skipped a lot of the time consuming applications. I only filled out the required paperwork to start working.
This can work for anyone!

Now let me tell you a quick story.
During my first job as an adjuster I was determined to be successful. I slept about 4 hours and worked until I fell asleep each night. I learned two valuable lessons. If I could keep my managers and policy holders happy I would be successful. My manager was able to see my work ethic and how the policy holders responded to me while I was working. He let me know that he had to make some cuts but that I would be able to keep working.
Later when I became a manager and was involved with the leadership on a high level I learned the exact formula they used to evaluate adjusters.
